What we do

Comprehensive care under one roof

All services

Care for every stage of life

One clinic, your whole family.

Alberta Medicare is built to look after every member of your household — from a first checkup for a newborn to complex care for a grandparent. Because we practice family medicine, we can carry your history forward and coordinate between the people who care for you.

Adults

Annual physicals, mental health check-ins, minor injuries, sexual health, travel medicine, and workplace or driver medicals — with unhurried appointments and clear next steps.

Seniors

Chronic condition management for diabetes, blood pressure, arthritis, and heart health, plus medication reviews with our on-site pharmacist so nothing conflicts or gets missed.

Children & teens

Well-baby visits, routine immunizations, school and sports physicals, and gentle, judgement-free care for teens managing acne, mental health, or first questions about their body.

Women's health

Pap tests, prenatal and postpartum support, contraception counselling, menopause care, and referrals to trusted Edmonton specialists when a shared plan is the right call.

Why patients choose us

A clinic built around your time and your privacy.

Health care in Alberta works best when it is close to home, easy to reach, and led by a doctor who actually knows you. Alberta Medicare was designed around that idea. We keep our patient panels small enough that appointments run on time, we hold same-week slots for people who need to be seen soon, and we offer virtual and phone visits so a busy afternoon at work or a sick kid at home never becomes a reason to skip care.

We treat your information with the same care as your health. Everything we do follows Alberta's Health Information Act (HIA) and PIPEDA, our virtual-visit platform is hosted in Canada, and we never ask for medical history through public web forms — that conversation belongs in your visit, not a contact form.

  • Private by design

Virtual visits run on Canadian-hosted infrastructure under Alberta's Health Information Act. Our public website never asks for medical history.

  • Short wait times

Most same-week requests are scheduled within 48 hours. Walk-ins welcome for urgent concerns.

  • Pharmacy on site

Skip the second errand — fill your prescription before you leave, or have it delivered.

Frequently asked questions

Answers before your first visit.

A quick rundown of the questions our front desk hears most. Still not sure? Call the clinic or send us a message — a real person will get back to you.

How do I book an appointment?

Use our online booking page to pick a service, choose a doctor if you have a preference, and lock in a real time slot. We confirm your visit by email within one business day. You can also call the clinic during opening hours and our front desk team will book you in.

What is the difference between an in-person and a virtual visit?

In-person visits happen at our Edmonton clinic and are best for physical exams, procedures, immunizations, and anything the doctor needs to see or feel. Virtual visits happen over a secure Canadian-hosted video link and are ideal for prescription renewals, follow-ups, mental-health check-ins, minor concerns, and quick questions about test results.

Can I get my prescription refilled without a visit?

For most ongoing medications your doctor will renew the prescription during a short virtual or phone visit so we can review how the medication is working. Once approved, our on-site pharmacy can fill it before you leave, or deliver it to your home.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome for urgent but non-emergency concerns during our regular hours. Booking ahead is faster and guarantees a time slot, but if something comes up we will do our best to see you the same day. For medical emergencies, please call 911.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes — we are currently accepting new patients of all ages. Family medicine, pediatrics, women's health, and chronic-care rostering are all open. Book a first visit online and we will get you set up with a family doctor at that appointment.

How does billing work in Alberta?

Insured medical services for Alberta residents with a valid Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) card are covered by the province — you pay nothing at the visit. Some services (uninsured forms, sick notes, some virtual-care add-ons, cosmetic procedures) are not covered by AHCIP; we will always tell you the fee in advance.

For after-hours advice or provincial programs, these trusted sources complement the care you get at our clinic:

"Booking online took two minutes and the virtual visit felt just like sitting in the exam room. My prescription was at the in-clinic pharmacy the same afternoon."
